EDS Identity
Designing the visual identity for the Everyday Design Studio.
The Everyday Design Studio, co-directed by Ron Wakkary and William Odom, is a design research studio at Simon Fraser University. The studio explores the changing nature of interaction design in response to the increasing role technology plays in mediating everyday practices like DIY, amateur experts, reminiscence, self-exploration, social connection, the making of home life, etc.
Looking to increase the digital presence of the studio, I got the opportunity to design a new logo and website. The logo should nod at the work done at the studio and also reflect the creative nature of design as a practice.
The following pictures give you an insight into the development process – from the first digital sketches to the final outcome.
